'Timmer' recently teamed up with Alexander de Groot to design a line of jackets that double as waterproof sleeping bags for the homeless. For those who are living on the street, sleeping outdoors can be both uncomfortable and dangerous. These wearable sleeping bags are designed to protect homeless people from the rain and cold.
The 'Sheltersuit' is a durable parka that can be transformed into a sleeping bag. The waterproof coat can be zipped together with a second layer that forms the sleeping bag. The detachable bottom can be used to protect the person's legs from the cold and rain even when they are outside. When not in use, the bottom layer can be removed and carried in an accompanying backpack. The Sheltersuit is made from old camping tents, which help repel water and retain heat.
The waterproof sleeping bags are currently being distributed for free via Timmer and de Groot's Sheltersuit foundation.
