The Warm N’ Cool is a conceptual food carrier from designers Arthur Kenzo, François de Martrindonos and François Hurtaud that can both heat and cool food. The device is one part icebox and one part microwave and has a portable design that makes it perfect for outdoor events.
The Warm N’ Cool works by removing the heat from objects that are being cooled. The heat removed is then stored and used to charge the Warm N' Cool's battery pack. The battery pack is then used to power the device's heater to warm up hot foods.
With its simple and portable design, the Warm N’ Cool could very well become a summer essential. Keeping food cold while out and about is easy, but heating food up on the fly is another issue altogether. The Warm N' Cool has a shot at going from concept to reality as it was named a semifinalist in the 2011 Electrolux Design Lab Competition.
