The intelligently savvy Volkswagen Stop-Start technology for cars can now be found in a nifty YouTube app. The Stop-Start app senses when the user's head move away from the screen and conveniently pauses the video for them till they look back.
Volkswagen invented Stop-Start as a way to save fuel and energy while driving. When a car is stopped, the stop-start technology turns off the car and turns it on again when the car starts to move. Now, the same Volkswagen stop-start technology is featured in a YouTube app that detects when a face moves and pauses whatever video the viewer is watching only to start it again when they turn back.
Apparently the app isn't sensitive enough and really needs the user to amplify their movements in order to sense them. Perhaps the functionality isn't all there, but this app is still a great Volkswagen marketing maneuver.
