The Volkswagen Snowareg is the ultimate winter vehicle. The Snowareg was created by the good folks over at Volkswagen Sweden. The Swedes took a normal Touareg, VW's SUV, and replaced each wheel with tank tracks. The result is an SUV that can plow through even the deepest snow banks.
The wheels were the only thing Volkswagen Sweden modified on the Touareg. The Volkswagen Snowareg is still powered by its stock 4.2-liter V8 TDI engine with 340 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Attentive gearheads may liken this snow-beater to the Fiat Panda monster truck built not more than a few months ago. Fiat's monster Panda was awesome, but it wasn't quite as ready to do battle with the snow as the Volkswagen Snowareg is. When it comes to a Scandinavian winter, you can't beat tank tracks.
