Social alarm clock app Wakie is pivoting to enable strangers to have voice conversations on any discussion topic. Available from Google Play, the App Store and the Windows Store, the smartphone application is now described as "the fastest way to find the appropriate person to discuss anything." This is sort of like old school chatrooms, except using phone calls.
The outsourced wake-up call feature still exists, but Wakie expanded to include conversational matchmaking. You can request voice conversations on a number of subjects, from love advice to learning more about a different country. The border-free communication platform is anonymous and safe for users, as no phone numbers are visible or exchanged. So far 2 million users in 80 countries are using Wakie.
