Spudtacular Viral Ad

McCain Potato Parade

Haven't you always wanted to send a personalized Potato Parade? Well, chances are you'll want to once you check out McCain's latest interactive campaign.

It was developed by glue London in collaboration with Aardman animations, the creative team behind the Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run cartoons. The McCain ad consists of a troop of walking, talking potatoes that wander around cyberspace delivering user-generated messages, or what's being referred to as "personalized potato parades."

Choose from four out of nine potatoes with customized virtual signs containing the name of the recipient, then watch the members of your potato parade flail around the screen under your personalized message.

Campaigns like these are stellar for brand interaction; it entertained my potato loving self for quite a while. Can't say it tempted me to buy the fries though.
