One of the vineyard buildings comprising the Bodegas Faustino winery in Oyo, situated in the wine-making hub of La Rioja in Spain, is all set to be completely solar-powered thanks to a development carried out by Foster + Partners.
The architecture firm was hired in order to rejuvenate the winery, a project that involved crafting together a brand new visitor center that will be equipped with solar panels that are capable of churning out nearly six times the amount of electricity that the building requires. As well, this visitor center building will feature a roof sheathed in substantial glazing, helping to welcome in sunlight and curb the reliance on electrically powered lighting.
Additionally, Foster + Partners has also committed to setting up a new street next to the visitor center, with the street set to benefit from landscaping and canopies to create a pleasant entry point from which guests can access the vineyard.
