Playful Geometric Furniture

Vertical Village by MVRDV is Made Entirely Out of Foam

Vertical Village by MVRDV, an architectural firm based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is a series of foam furniture that looks more like pieces for a playground or modern art piece. As the name suggests, the designs are modelled after buildings, specifically those found in East Asian cities, but the shapes are so abstract and geometric that they pass off as toy blocks more than anything else.

Created in collaboration with Belgian furniture company Sixinch, Vertical Village by MVRDV is made up of 77 large and colorful pieces. The mix-and-match collection offers a great way to spruce up a living or work space in a bold and comfortable way. Since the designs are entirely made out of foam, they are also child-friendly, which makes them especially appropriate for family homes and even school houses.
