Thanks to two product design students from England, Espresso just went mobile.
This product prototype is called The Velopresso and combines cycling, coffee and eco-friendly product design. The concept is simple: an espresso machine that uses no electricity and can move freely through the streets of England.
The Velopresso rests on three wheels and is powered by the pedals, both in terms of movement and in terms of Espresso making. This eco-friendly design makes it a highly sustainable model for mobile coffee makers. The pedals move the machine, while also grinding the coffee beans. A camp stove heats the water and the steam from that water is used to power the machine further.
The designers are even hoping to use the leftover coffee grounds as fuel too.
