The V-Charge System Lets Electric Cars Find Parking Spots On Their Own

V-Charge is a technology that allows electric cars to autonomously search for parking spots, so drivers don't have to waste time. Users can simply exit their vehicle when they reach a parking area, and leave the car to head off on its own to find a parking spot. The cars will need to use eight on-board cameras, emergency braking systems and a self-driving system.

V-Charge ensures that self-driving vehicles never travel faster than 10 km/h and automatically brake and steer to avoid hitting each other. The system's server selects routes and parking spots while trying to optimize traffic flow. Once parked, cars can juice up their batteries using integrated charging stations. Once the user returns, they can use the app to get the car to come pick them up.

The V-Charge technology is already being used in two demo cars in Germany and Switzerland.
