Valentino Spring 2014 Couture Showed in Paris This Week

This week in Paris, Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli presented a dramatic new Valentino Spring 2014 Couture collection. The show was both theatrical and romantic. Many of the garments were completely unsubtle about their inspiration, in the best of ways. The models had her hair parted in the middle and pulled back, while their faces were kept fresh and pale.

Towards the beginning of the Valentino Spring 2014 couture show were multiple Christian references that were not at all subtle, but completely gorgeous. Lions roar on coats, snakes wrap around the waist of dresses and an outstanding painting of the garden of Eden is pained on the skirt of a dress. Other over-the-top elements are added to puffed-out sheer dresses, such as music notes, butterflies and feathers.
