Unveiled at IFA 2018, the Sharp VacPac Pro fridge-freezer is a unique home appliance that helps owners sous vide. While the fridge lacks a water fountain or voice assistant, it does come equipped with a built-in vacuum sealer. This integrated device allows users to suck the air out of any sealer bag and is not linked to any proprietary bag design. All of this is easily done with the touch of a button and is conveniently located on the front of the VacPac Pro fridge-freezer.
Sharp believes that this feature will help users better extend the longevity of meat and dairy by up to eight times. According to a spokesperson, the sealed bags are also ideal for sous vide-style cooking, ensuring perfect edge-to-edge cooking. The VacPac Pro fridge-freezer also features a fast-chill function for wine and other items.
