The updated eBay app is now compatible with one's Google Home Smart Speakers, allowing for a more seamless method for customers to search for product information.
Now, users can simply ask the AI assistant about an item they wish to purchase from the auctioning platform, without having to lift a finger. Simply saying "Hey Google, ask eBay to find me" followed by a desired product, will prompt the device to search the database for close matches. To ensure the correct items have been selected, the Google assistant will ask the user a series of follow-up questions surrounding the product. In addition, the app will inform the user of how many similar products are available, as well as the difference in makes, models and prices.
The update was made available just in time for the holiday season, making for a more streamlined gift-giving experience.
