Commuters in London will be able to start enjoying more expansive Underground mobile coverage thanks to a new partnership announced by Mayor Sadiq Khan between Transport of London (TfL) and BAI Communications.
The initiative will see 4G and 5G connectivity being implemented into the Tube network with fully connected stations coming online by the end of 2022 with full mobile coverage expected by 2024. The announcement comes on the heels of last year's launch of mobile coverage on the eastern portion of the Jubilee line.
The Underground mobile coverage enhancements are said to be capable of delivering next-generation performance and will be some of the most advanced in the world to offer Londoners and visitors alike with an unparalleled experience as they travel.
