Moscow might be building the first of its kind UFO shaped "complex" that would house a "shopping center, hotel, plenty of parking and even helicopter landing pads. 'Galaktika' (Galaxy), will 'hover' over the busy intersection of Michurin and Lobachevski streets, South West Moscow."
Implications - The project has a hefty estimated cost of 250-300 million dollars, so it will be interesting to see if it ultimately gets completed. Construction is planned to begin at the end of this year and to finish by 2010. Without a doubt it will dramatically reshape the face of Moscow forever while also offering a whole bunch of functionality on top. Who wouldn't want to land a helicopter on a giant UFO-shaped building?
