Once in a while function follows form, and this is precisely the process by which the Twister Shelf was designed. Krisztian Griz became intrigued by the elegant shapes created through the molding of wood, arriving on a collection of objects that would conveniently perform well as a system of clothes hooks.
Canoe yokes and curling foliage influenced the graceful bending timber pegs, providing places for jackets, scarves, hats and handbags to hang securely, and behaving as cradles for depositing keys and mobile phones. The organic shapes offered by this project are arranged in a much more rational alignment to encourage ease of use and an appreciation of the splendor of every polished piece. The Twister Shelf concept was a Becker Contest 2011 proposal that took an opportunity to bring true beauty into such an ordinary home accessory.
