Created by Frederick Vandenbosch, this DIY TV remote control offers the maker the ability to control his television set from afar using gestures rather than presses.

Featuring a Raspberry Pi mini PC within, the remote control also features a Skywriter HAT that enables users to flick and swipe their fingers over the device to operate the television.

Vandenbosch was inspired to create the TV remote control after seeing how his children were able to master the various motions required to operate a tablet. From here, he created the unit which is able to understand various gestures to turn the unit on and off, change the channel and even augment the volume.
