The Tsai Residence by HHF Architects with Ai WeiWei is an eye-catching weekend home two hours upstate from New YorK City. Located in a serenely bucolic setting, the house features an abstract sequence of windows and openings to help exhibit its natural surroundings.
The clients, two young art collectors, wanted Tsai Residence to be a simplistic structure that produced varied lighting conditions for displaying their art. The equally-sized boxes are built with wood and gypsum panels. There are slight spaces in between the boxes to diffuse small amounts of light into the interior.
