Here is one more nature-inspired piece for Milan Design Week: Tord Boontje’s ‘Digital Memories,’ a series that was designed for Bisazza Home.
There’s ‘Dark Waters,’ a coffee table, and commodes called ‘Night Vision’ and ‘Summer Trees.’ Each furniture piece is finished with a decorative mosaic that pixelates a snapshot of a fleeting memory of nature. Tord Boontje explained the concept in a press release for the series:
When I look at mosaic patterns, I am immediately reminded of a pixelated image, a digital image. We use digital images from cameras and video to capture moments of life, these become our memories. The collection of mosaic for Bisazza is based on the idea to use images that trigger memories when you look at them.
This megapixel furniture is one of my favorite series at Milan Design Week. I am a huge fan of Bisazza mosaics, which are seen throughout the world of interior design.
