The transport service Uber is aiming to help people with bikes in bike-heavy cities.
Amsterdam is known for its abundance of bikes and people who use them to travel around the city, and Uber will be launching its new transport service UberBike which will allow customers to request cars with bike racks. This will allow people who do not or who cannot bike to their requested destination to take their bikes with them to the location.
This service was previously launched in Sao Paulo, Brazil and hopes to intervene in markets and geographic locations in which transport services such as Uber are not needed as often. The additional charge will cost approximately €4 in Amsterdam and the success of this venture will determine whether it will be launched in other cities.
