Swiss watchmaking company Antoine Martin will soon be releasing the 'Tourbillon Astronomique', an astronomical watch with an astronomical price tag of over $500,000.
The Tourbillon Astronomique watch display shows sunrise and sunset times at any location of the owner's choice. What's impressive about this is that it's a mechanical watch, so its calculations are carried out mechanically and aren't connected to any external information source like the Internet.
At the back of the watch, there is a beautifully embedded map of the world complete with a red horizontal line that represents where the sun is directly overhead at noon. The watch even has a display dedicated to showing how many minutes lie between clock time and solar time, which is caused by the fact that the Earth revolves around the sun at different times throughout the year.
This heavyweight watch packs several high-precision features inside its 18K rose-gold case, which is held on the wearer's wrist by a brown alligator leather strap.
