Androgynous Gladiator Runways

Pedram Karimi's Toronto Men's Fashion Week Presentation is Vanguard

Designer Pedram Karimi‘s androgynous collection stunned audience members at last week's TOM Toronto Men's Fashion Week event. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection embodied a unisex aesthetic and referenced both Egyptian and Roman gladiator imagery in its designs.

This collection fused these past era inspirations with a modern aesthetic of luxe streetwear. The end result stunned stylish spectators while playing with proportion and rejecting tradition.

Pedram Karimi‘s presentation at Toronto Men's Fashion week highlighted the bold graphics of Montreal-based artist Shawn Johann, who created geometric and grid-inspired drawings for the designer's latest collection. Though contemporary, the art works referenced ancient text and cultural symbols like the hieroglyph characters of Ancient Egyptian times. Moreover, these graphics enhanced draped silhouettes that were reminiscent of garments worn by gladiator warriors.
