Artist Parra works in collaboration with modern art label Case Studyo on a new iteration of the Tomato Chair to showcase at VOLTA 2019. The latest show will be based in Basel, Switzerland and it will run in correlation with the Art Basel 2019 show as well.
The festival features work from international galleries in order to draw attention to both emerging creatives and established artists as well. The Tomato Chair is presented by Joshua Liner Gallery and will be displayed at the A11 booth. The furniture design is strongly informed with artistic backgrounds, measuring out to be 120 by 120 by 90 cm. It directly recalls the human-like Tomato character famed by Parra's artwork in the colors of blue, red, and white.
