At first glance, these cute designs by Slovakian designer Tomas Kral look just like normal hats perched on display stands at a hat store. But they're not -- these quirky designs are actually lamps!
Tomas Kral has designed these charming and cute hat-lamp hybrids for the Mühlbauer hat store as part of Vienna Design Week Passionswege. This is a special program that pairs up young designers with Viennese businesses to to work on new projects, says DesignEast. Kral equated hats to lamp shades -- as they are often used to shade the human head -- and so this series of hat lamps was born. Applying Mühlbauer's production process and materials, Tomas Kral created these adorable lamps, which feature a ceramic body and the shade (or hat) made of felt or parasisol.
