The TiVo Mega is a digital video recorder with a scarcely believable capacity of 24 terabytes. This allows the device to store over 26,000 hours of TV, which is the equivalent of three years of non-stop viewing. Fancy yourself a seasoned TV marathoner? Drain the TiVo Mega's video capacity in one sitting and then we'll talk.
The device can record content from live TV, on-demand services, streams and Web-based TV onto the swappable hard disk drives that form its array. The drives can store 26,000 hours of standard definition content and 4,000 hours -- around six months -- of HD video.
Pricing for the TiVo Mega hasn't been finalized, but it is expected to retail for no less than $5,000 once it is released in early 2015.
