It has been a century since the foundation of the Bauhaus and design studio THONET is celebrating the milestone with a limited edition of the famous cantilever chair S 533 F by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. The celebratory chairs are designed by a duo based in Hamburg named Besau Marguerre and the result includes two iterations of the furniture piece with armrests. One of the chairs includes a frame in a smoked chrome and anthracite leather material, whilst the other version is in a champagne chrome finish with leather materials in a soft rose hue.
The chairs are elegant in design with its simplistic lines and transparent elements in terms of shape and space. The designs challenge the contrast that exists between objectivity and softness, exuding the concept that less is more. The tubular frames are constructed from spring steel, creating an arch as a foundation which recalls its original design.
