This conceptual "think tank for a think tank" was designed by architect Michael Jantzen to inspire those coming together for the purpose of building knowledge. Open and inviting, the structure is round, with wooden slats circling the building and glass sliding panels. Topping the white structure is a set of solar panels that power the electricity within the building at night as well as the Santa Fe Institute. In addition, rainwater is collected on the roof and filtered down into storage containers.
In line with tradition at the Santa Fe Institute, the glass panels invite thinkers to write their equations that describe their work. The panels can then slide over top of one another, inspiring thoughts and equations' relationships that may not have been seen before. The entire structure looks like an antenna, representing one that is always searching for knowledge and inspiration.
