You have probably heard of theme parks before, but theme farms are likely a newer concept. The beloved Japanese anime character Hello Kitty now has her own organic farm. The 50,000 square foot Hello Kitty Go Green Organic Farm is located in Hong Kong and opened last June. The cartoon character is plastered throughout the place wearing a straw hat and wearing overalls.
Founder Raymond Cheng originally established the farm without a theme, but wanted to introduce theme farms as a way to attract more customers, especially families. He notes "I wanted more children to come to the farm to learn about green and organic" -- a particularly relevant issue given the health issues and food safety problem in China and Hong Kong.
