Modern Merperson Museums (UPDATE)

'The Vandenberg' Chronicles Life Under the Sea

The Vandenberg: Life Below The Surface is an exhibition of photos shot by the ever-talented Andreas Franke. This collection is an examination of surrealist imagery and life beyond what is familiar and know. All of the activities and images are ones that an average person has seen or participated in. However, adding this element of being submerged and underwater drastically changes the mood and direction.

The photos of the The Vandenberg: Life Below The Surface collection include young boys boxing, a group of young woman practicing ballet, a scene at a bar and a scene at the gym. Somehow, seeing the people in the photos perform all of these mundane activities but with the added element of being underwater really throws you off. Perhaps somewhere at some point there were merpeople swimming around, and Andreas Franke is merely the first to capture the phenomena.
