JR Hokkaido developed a dual mode vehicle (DMV) that can run on both road and train tracks. It is economical and fuel efficient. 200 people already have their ridden inside the DMV throughout its trial run. The Fuji Municipal Government was planning to introduce the vehicle to operate between the Shin-Fuji Station and Fuji Station.
