The Toolstair Instantly Goes from Toolbox to Stepping Stool

The Toolstair is an awesome design from Taehyung Kim, Chanhee Han, Junyoung Jang and Wonmo Yang that merges a toolbox with a stepping stool. The Toolstair has drawers to hold tools like any regular toolbox, but its drawers slide out and lock into place to form stairs.

I can’t tell you how many toolboxes I’ve climbed on top of or used to steady myself in an effort to reach an elevated item in the tool shed. The Toolstair eliminates this potentially dangerous situation by turning into a three-tiered stepping stool at a moment’s notice. The toolbox is also designed to be portable with its lightweight base and wheels that allow it to be dragged like a piece of luggage. You can see conceptual images of what I am hoping is the future of the toolbox here.
