The Tactilu Helps Long Distance Couples Touch Each Other

A simple little device by new media art group panGenerator called the Tactilu transmits basic touch between couples. The bracelet works to allow people who are miles apart to feel each other. Using Bluetooth technology and sensors, the Tactilu is able to transfer touch. The gadget connects to your smartphone in order to transfer data which is then communicated to another Tactilu.

After being strapped to your arm, the Tactilu allows you to both receive and transmit touch. The top side of the bracelet contains sensors which communicate with another Tactilu in real time. On the other side, there are Arduino-controlled pistons which move to simulate touch. The pistons push against a piece of leather which is strapped against your skin.
