Guitar Zero's is a new band causing a fuss on the underground scene.
Call it nerd rock or geek punk, this novelty band, regardless of category, is rocking hard.
Using the ever popular Guitar Hero as their lead instrument, Owen Grace, the lead guitarist, has harness this awesome power by tweaking the guitars via laptop and some cool software. Using Max/MSP the laptop generates 32 sets of notes and variables such as whammy bar and tilt censor that uses 2 Dimm of tilt sensitivity, enabling the rocker with over 1,000 notes. But how they really get the rocking sound is through pedals and amps, just like any other guitar.
Being the first of its kind to use a video game controller as an actually musical instrument, these guys have set the bar. But I wonder if this will catch on with the latest video game Rock Band, which has a electronic drum set, guitar and bass, branding a new genre of rock.
