The Mission: House is a Hi-Tech, Eco-Friendly Abode

In places where sunlight is more dominant than others, such as in the Mission District located in Twin Peaks, San Francisco, solar rays are the ultimate power source, hence the Mission: House. In a location with an abundance of sunlight, Interstice Architects took it upon themselves to utilize this energy and construct a high-tech home that can recycle natural resources.

Originally designed as a test lab for building strategies, the Mission: House is encased in a solar multi-faceted "greenskin" shell made of recycled windows and ultimately uses smart passive solar strategies that synthesizes solar energy. However, not only does the house have an exposed open-air bathroom, the house does not provide much insulation from the cold.
