The King in the Castle pub has been announced ahead of the Coronation of King Charles III as the first-ever public house from retailer Tesco that will provide citizens with a place to celebrate the event. The pub will feature a Coronation-themed menu with products from the limited-edition Tesco Coronation food range for patrons to try out and will see all proceeds up to £250,000 donated to The Prince's Trust. The pub will be open May 4 to 5, 2023 to coincide with the Coronation and responds to research that many adults in the UK will be heading out to mark the event with friends and family.
Tesco Chief Customer Officer Alessandra Bellini spoke on The King in the Castle pub saying, "The Coronation is a historic moment and we want to help our customers celebrate it. As one of the most enduring parts of British culture, pubs have traditionally been an important part of local communities and so a pub felt like the perfect way to bring people together to mark this special occasion and enjoy delicious food."
