Willy Chavarria Unveils 'The Jalisco,' an Elevated Version of the Derby

Willy Chavarria has expanded his creative repertoire by introducing his first official footwear design. Partnering with the esteemed American shoemaker Allen Edmonds, Chavarria presents The Jalisco, a sophisticated reimagining of the classic Derby shoe.

The Jalisco is an elevated version of the traditional Derby, a style characterized by its open-laced leather panels. This new iteration introduces several unique design elements that set it apart from conventional Derbies. The shoe features a refined split toe, adding a distinctive and stylish touch to its overall appearance. Complementing this design is a Cuban heel, which enhances the shoe's aesthetic and adds a modern twist to its formal roots.

Further distinguishing The Jalisco is the subtle inclusion of Chavarria's signature 'WC' initials, elegantly embossed in gold foil.

"I have always admired Allen Edmonds for their quality and craftsmanship but was truly blown away by what the artisans in Port Washington are capable of crafting," Chavarria said. "I had no idea a luxury shoe of this caliber could be made here at home."
