Nottingham University released their newest addition, The Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies, in Ningbo, China. This eco-friendly design was created by Mario Cucinella Architects and is where students will develop new ways to create renewable and sustainable energy sources.
The Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies is inspired by Chinese lanterns and traditional wooden screens. It features an array of eco features such as a large rooftop opening that brings natural light to all floors of the building. The building also uses geothermal heating and was a winner of the 2009 MIPIM Green Building Award.
