Amsterdam-based firm Nicemakers has taken on the design project of transforming the interiors at The Brecon, which is a retro chalet dating back 100 years. It is now a secluded retreat with 18 rooms and it is designed to be a 'high-end version of your own home.'
The head of design at Nicemakers, Lottie Lorenzetti spoke to Dezeen about the project, explaining that the rooms were meant to reflect guest rooms in someone's home rather than a hotel space. Lorenzetti shares, "We set out from the very beginning with the intention of not creating another clean, minimal, Swiss hotel aesthetic." The client, who is hotel operator Grant Maunder had the goal of creating "a hideaway which feels like a dream home."
