‘The Bean’ is a unique computer mouse that is ergonomic and easy to use.
The mouse featured a unique design that can be operated using three fingers instead of the usual two. By using three fingers, the mouse allows users to generate unique combinations, allowing for a range of functions that regular mice cannot match. The Bean mouse has a unique tactile surface, accessible by the thumb, which replaces the usual scroll wheel and middle click button.
The device’s body is also shaped for increased wrist comfort, and is designed to fit all sizes of hands. The final product will be powered by a battery and will be able to function wirelessly.
The project, which is currently seeking funds on Kickstarter, is the brainchild of graduate mechanical engineering students at the University of Portsmouth.
