A collaboration between Kvadrat textiles and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec has resulted in a truly stupendous sofa that's been placed within the grand Raphael Cartoons Gallery of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The cushioned 240 square meter surface asks visitors to the institution to get cozy. The colossal couch has been assembled close to the floor with subtly slanted sides that encourage guests to sit right down and sprawl out. The Textile Field is a rare piece of art within these exhibition spaces with which one can tangibly interact, and it provides a platform for people to casually contemplate the artifacts around them.
