Designer Ed Chew is aiming to clean up Malaysian landfills with his TetraBox Lamp. The TetraBox Lamp is a lamp constructed entirely out of upcycled cardboard-packet drink containers.
Malaysians apparently love drinking packet drinks, but according to Chew, they often don't bother to place the trash into recycling bins, which leads to millions of packet drink containers clogging up already-full landfills. The TetraBox Lamp gives these containers a new purpose by turning them into dazzling lampshades.
The lampshades are made up of small triangles made out of folded containers put into three-dimensional hexagonal and pentagonal shapes. The results truly are a sight to see as the light emanating from these lamps creates impressive shapes not seen since the days of the disco ball.
