The conceptual Tesla Pod system identifies what can be done to make vehicles more modular, interchangeable and relevant for a rapidly changing transportation infrastructure.
Created by Fábio Martins as part of his thesis project, the vehicle features an electric powertrain base that can be paired with three different pods for various transportation methods. This includes the Public Pod, Commercial Pod and Private Pod, which can be used for bussing a large number of people around, shipping goods and as a private transportation method, respectively.
The conceptual Tesla Pod system can be changed up to serve the different purposes listed above thanks to a large robotic arm that will easily mount and dismount the modules according to needs.
