Tatiana Shkondina, a photographer and food stylist of Russian descent, has challenged herself with the task of recreating famous paintings using materials found in the kitchen.
Shkondina's edible masterpieces include reinterpretations of the work of Van Gogh, Warhol, Dali and Klimt. She tackled Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' with the grains of wild rice, pasta and grapes. Meanwhile, Warhol's Dollar Sign Quadrant was fashioned using a few healthy veggies -- cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli, to be specific. Finally, Salvador Dali's 'The Persistence of Memory' was redone with sesame, pasta, cinnamon and bread.
Shkondina's artistic process begins by designing a meticulous layout, which is then filled in with handpicked ingredients, chosen for their shape, size and coloring.
