Evolving Necessity Seating

The Take on Nature Sofa Adapts to the Sitter's Changing Needs

Throughout life, one does not always require the same characteristics from his furniture, and the Take on Nature Sofa respects this. Gustav Segersteen was inspired by the evolution of the human form and personality, and wished to create a couch that would embrace it.

An informative illustration begins with a simple chair, gradually acquiring additional features towards the bottom of the drawing. A reading lamp and armrests are added first, followed by an adjacent identical seat, a merging of those seats and finally a beverage tray is built into one side. The Take on Nature Sofa takes on an eccentric organic form, allowing the aging sitter and his life partner repose in a number of ways accommodated by this peculiar piece.
