The Tailgate Garden Bench by Kathi Borrego is a Sentimental Creation

The Tailgate Garden Bench would be a fun touch in anyone's backyard. It is made out of a vintage vehicle, specifically the broken tailgate of an old Chevy. Combined with a wooden base, the rusted color of the car and its accompanying license plates add a good dose of visual interest. Like an antique tea pot or string of industrial lights, the Tailgate Garden Bench brings a lot of character to its surroundings.

Designed by Kathi Borrego, a recycled metal artist in Harlan, Oregon, and built with the help of her husband, the Tailgate Garden Bench looks like it was the perfect project between the two. A sentimental creation, the Chevrolet belonged to her dad and was originally built in 1972, the year Berrego was born.
