It really does look as though this coffee table with a handle is a magnified version of an old candle holder. Modelled off of those antique candlesticks made from brass, this piece of furniture comes equipped with a ring-shaped attachment that's much like the single finger grip on a low-tech wax illuminator.
The reason behind Ola Giertz's design decision was to produce a piece of furniture that's almost as mobile as a lit wick.
