Even with medicine readily available to help prevent severe asthma attacks, 5,000 people up end in the hospital every day because 75% of them don't know how to use their inhalers properly; the T-Haler hopes to change that. The T-Haler is a hi-tech asthma inhaler that can sense exactly how it is being used. Fitted with WiFi technology and sensors, it tracks three things: shaking, actuation (pumping the inhaler) and inhalation.
Designed by Cambridge Consultants, the T-Haler uses its readings to show the individual what they are doing right and wrong in real-time on a computer screen. The computer program that illustrates the T-Haler's feedback depicts a golf-like scenario. A perfect inhaler use results in a green ball going into a hole.
