The idea of living on well before a person's physical body has fertilized the earth is something everyone can relate to on some level or another. So it's interesting to see how this idea manifests itself in people's lives, imaginations and more. Take the Sylvan Constellation. Sylvan Constellation is a concept created for a competition by the Centre for Death and Society at England’s University of Bath.
It envisions a gorgeous wooded area in which the deceased are buried. But instead of being marked by tombstones, there is a collection of lanterns that are powered by the decomposing bodies. Centre director Dr. John Troyer said in a press release, "The proposal captured the Future Cemetery design competition’s larger themes by presenting a mix of different sustainable technologies."
