Made from natural wood and reinforced glass fiber and epoxy, Serbian designer Zarko Bubalo’s sustainable wooden bikes are a hybrid combination between traditional and modern technologies.
The two bikes, called ‘Imagine’ and ‘Perfect Day,’ are each made from wood and quality composite materials that provide a high level of frame strength and vibration absorption while giving the bike a recycled, conservatory appearance. The design was inspired by aircraft and shipbuilding construction, and the bike’s six layers of polyurethane varnish enhances the sustainable wooden bike’s sleek modern look.
Built through careful construction, the speed bike comes with a front-wheel suspension with a lean, slender frame that is sure to give speedsters a good run for their money. The bike was introduced at Paris Design Week, which ran from September 9 to 15.
