A new, innovation-focused, and design-forward sustainability research center has been erected on the grounds of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. Titled the Resnick Sustainability Resource Center, this 80,000-square feet building was designed by Yazdani Studio, an architectural practice that is based out of Los Angeles.
Yazdani Studio focused on developing a flexible floorplan to accommodate the important work that the sustainability research center will house and nurture. The complex is envisioned as "a multi-disciplinary hub for the advancement of research into climate change solutions." Given the current state of the planet and the accelerating threat of global warming, it is needless to say that collaborative efforts, alongside state-of-the-art buildings and technology, are necessary for humanity to have a fighting chance at slowing down and/or alleviating climate catastrophes.
